Hey guys, as the title states, I am looking to upgrade my T61P to LED backlight. My cursory search online of the LED inverter boards reveal they seem to have the same connector:

    T500 LED Inverter (FRU: 42W8080 / 42W8079 / 42W8082):

    T61P CCFL Inverter (FRU: 41W1338):

Finally, if these will be swappable, where would one recommend I look for the actual LED backlight assembly? ( I know how intricate the actual backlight swap is, I have done numerous CCFL replacements)

    Thanks!

Have seen just a few sold separately and then only for some high-quality-and-costly panels (medical application and high gamut). Better option might be to buy a broken 15.4" 16:10 WLED screen and strip it from that.

Another (and easier) option is to use a regular CCFL>WLED adapter and buy a working panel (same list as before), though that would limit you to max. 1680x1050 ... there is one WUXGA; LTN154CT04-D01, though incompatible since it's RGB led and your system lacks several of its required signal pins (brilliant screen though).

Well, I already have working WUXGA Panels in my T61p's (yes I have two that I plan to do this to.)

I was hoping to use the OEM led inverters to be able to retain the mini LED indicators as well as the brightness control.

I have emailed this chinese company as a secondary option:
