    Hello All,

I was wondering if LED screen, besides being brighter, is also more crisp?

Is this something worth waiting for T500? I came across some sources saying that LED is already available for T500 but it is not showing on the lenovo usa website. Will LED screen be available during the next month?

    thank you,

    chris

if you have time..definitely wait for the LED on a t500
it's like the cherry on top of a cake
the price also may or may not drop a bit for the t500

The WXGA LED screen is now available as an option for the T500 on the Canadian EPP website. It shouldn't be long before it's up on the US site. And the base price has dropped to $903/$930 CAN for integrated/discrete graphics models, with the LED screen adding an additional $33.

I agree with the other members here, wait for the LED screen to be an option for the t500.

Why doesn't anyone offer an LED W SXGA screen? I just ordered a W500 and I wish it had an LED WSXGA. Now THAT would be icing on the cake...

Maybe Lenovo cannot find a stable WXGA+ or WSXGA 15.4 LED panel provider because of the worldwide shortage of panels...

Apple and dell can get WXGA+ 15.4 LED panel, since they put 15.4 LED screen into their notebooks earlier than lenovo.

Do you think there will be a LED WSXGA+ in T500 within the next 3-6 month?
Because i'm planning to buya T500, but it's not absolutly essential for me to buy it now.
But the only reason to wait seems to be the LED display....right?

Not on the US EPP site yet. The price drop along with the LED would be too much to be true. The page has been cleaned up with the $9000 processors gone.

The T500 is on the retail Canada site with a price drop for the discrete graphics (only $90 more) and the LED for 37.50. I could drive to Canada or be patient. I guess it is about time Canada got something first.......
I was actually looking at MacBooks last pm but they are behind on technology and the new release is rumored to be coming in mid-October.

I'm glad this thread was just made, because I was going to make one asking the exact same questions.

I'm interested in getting a T500, but I don't need one ASAP. However, I would absolutely love for it to have an LED display with dedicated graphics, and with a resolution of at least 1440x900. After seeing a MacBook Pro at an Apple Store (MBP's have LED displays), I just simply cannot get a notebook without one.

Has there been any news of LED displays on the dedicated T500's?

As an aside, how are the GPU's on them? How does the ATI Mobility Radeon 3650 with 256MB stack up against the Nvidia 8600M GT? I've looked around the web, and the best I can make out of the results is that they are rather equal. Is that true?

I really love that it can switch between dedicated and integrated graphics on the fly.

    Thanks for the help!

Sorry to bring up an old thread but it's been 3 weeks since LED became available for the T500, along with the price drop that brought the discrete model close to the integrated one. Well at least for Canadians, that is.

I'm wondering why Lenovo isn't introducing the same options and prices for US consumers. Are we ever going to see this? I don't understand their reasoning for this decision at all.

Someone needs to call Lenovo and find out why Canada has it but US doesn't. Also, why do they not offer WXSGA+ displays?

Just about every other manufacturer now is offering 15.4" LED backit displays at those resolutions.

I believe that their supply chain can not support the US demand for the 15.4 LED nor the discrete card for the t500. Hence the Canadian availability and not US for the screen and the exclusion from discounts for the T500 discrete. Back orders just ties up your system with complaints and unhappy people. Better to not have those options available or charge more to decrease the demand.

I gave up last week. All just my guess.
