before when I use the Fn + home/end keys n the volume buttons to turn up/down volume n brightness I get the indicator at the bottom of the screen showing me the green bars, today they just vanished. Anyone know how to get them back?

I tweaked HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IBM\TPHOTKEY\OnScreenDisplay key in Windows Registry.
I changed the value of Size to 14 1e 28 14 (four hexadecimal numbers - taken from the other ThinkPad registry).

    Try setting it to 0x1.
I presume you have tried to simply turn on OSD using a checkbox in "OSD tab" in "Advanced settings"?

That's what caused my OSD to go away too. The OSD tab in the display settings seems to write an incorrect value to the registry. Since you probably won't look at the OSD settings again after you're finished editing them to your liking, it's not a big issue to delete that value in the registry, but it's a little annoying to have to do it at all.

True, but there is an extra free satisfaction as well
For instance, I set 750ms FadeoutTime - just for fun!
Also experimented with color to get transparency - but to no avail.
