Battery life tests take a long time when you are testing one battery that gets 11 hours, and another that is pushing 9 hours :(

Kevin, I could help you out here..
I know what will happen after 9-11 hours: Your computer will shut itself down.

But I understand if you want to see for yourself :)

I assume the T400 is no different than the T500's? So a mushy, flexy keyboard now?

Horrible. That's the #1 draw of the thinkpad for me.

I don't believe that has been said or implied, and to jump to that conclusion would likely doing yourself a disservice. The comments indicated there was more flex than before, but that it was still a good keyboard.

As real world T400's and T500's hit the streets, I'm sure this will be dissected to death and beyond.

    Werd.

I love how we went from a little flex to a puddle of mud with some keys in it lol.

I can't wait to compare the T400 to my T60. Either way I try to do most of the paper work when I can on a desktop computer because nothing beats a desktop keyboard :)

And the fact that this so called "deal-breaker" can easily be fixed with a $40 purchase of an older keyboard...

I don't think it gets to the point of being mushy and flexy keyboard like my old HP laptop keyboard....I am sure it's still quite solid for people who are used to consumer laptops' keyboards like me.....still Kevin is making a point that the keyboards are just not as solid as they used to be....I hope Lenovo will notice that we notice the flex and are not like it.

The thing is, once you own a ThinkPad, you get this special gift...

    Just kidding.

Search the the FRU# (42T3273) on NBR.

Great review. These new thinkpads look really solid. I am just about sold on the T400. One question. How is the heat on the new T line. One thing that impressed me about my bosses new T61 was its ability to manage the heat, and the keyboard. Best notebook keyboard I have used hands down.

Under anything but gaming the system temps are maybe 5-10F above room temperature.

Great news. I can get a T400 with the options I want for just under 1000$ with tax. Will pull the trigger tomorrow.
