So I just received my brand spanking new T500. I decided to give Lenovo a 2nd chance after the debacle of my T61p due to the faulty nvidia gpu.

I just installed the newest version of HWMonitor to get some temperature readings. Weird thing is...there are no temp readings for the GPU. I only see temp readings for the CPU. ????? Is there something about ATI that I should know about?

Additionally, where should I go to for GPU Drivers? Especially since it's special in that it has the hybrid integrated gpu switching feature...so modded drivers would need to preserve that feature. Before, I use to use laptopvideo2go for my modded nvidia drivers...but now with this ATI card, I don't know where to go for reliable modded drivers for increased performance yet still preserves the hybrid switching.

    Thanks.

Because of the switchable graphics...things get more complicated. It'll be much helpful if someone posted a guide or listed the steps to update drivers to newer ones while retaining switchable graphics with non-Lenovo ones because Lenovo drivers are wayy outdated.

If you don't want trouble, just use the Lenovo switchable graphics driver.

When on integrated graphics (power saving) mode, the temperature is not displayed. After switching graphics, you have to restart HWMonitor to see the GPU temp.

The only switchable graphics driver available currently is the one offered by Lenovo.

If you want to use some modded drivers and at the same time retain the on-the-fly switchable graphics, then uninstall your ATI drivers, and patch them using the tool from mobility modders.net. Then reinstall them.

Don't uninstall the Intel GPU drivers.

On my T400, the newest version of HWmonitor does not show the GPU temps. However the older version does(1.13) So give the older version a shot...might work for the T500/HD3670.
