I have been assigned a ThinkPad T500 for work. I own an Inspiron 6000 and not familiar with ThinkPads. The touch pad on the T500 has vertical and horizantal lines which I think should be tied to scroll (wheel) function but it is not scrolling.
Is this normal? Thank you.

The touchpad is roughly the as a mouse in that it is a manipulandum for the vertical and horizontal placements of the cursor.

double check if all the drivers are installed. that function won't work if the lenovo drivers aren't installed.

@OP: You will need to have the UltraNav drivers installed, then you can go to the settings and set the touchpad scrolling (Fn+F8 > UltraNav tab > Touchpad Settings button > Virtual Scrolling (tick enable) > Scrolling Regions). -
What about WIndows 7 64-bit computers? I have a T500 that I would like to be able to scroll using the trackpad and am afraid to download this driver b/c it says it only applies to the 32-bit version.

there should be the 64 bit OS version of the driver, what is the model number of your T500? xxxx-xxx
