I went through the install process the other day to upgrade from Windows 7 (32 bit) to Windows 10 (32 bit) on my T500. Everything seemed to be going well until the machine rebooted.

Then after the Thinkpad splash screen, I received some sort of error message. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of it but I think it was telling me that I was missing something and asking me to insert a disc with the operating system. I (think) I turned off the machine and rebooted it. It loaded up Windows 7 and gave no indication that I had tried to upgrade to Windows 10.

Does anyone know what happened and how to fix it? I think I have the latest set of drivers available from Lenovo for Windows 7.

The upgrade process for windows 10 bricks on newer machines some have experienced including desktops, sometimes it is anti-virus causing problems oddly enough. You can manually download windows 10 (from microsoft) and burn the iso to a dvd or image onto a usb drive. This is why having either another hard drive or another machine to do testing on to see what can go wrong.
