I just ran EnhanceMySe7en which I learned about from the Free Windows Software thread.

On the disk drive Read Error Rate test it returned the following:
    Value 86
    Max. Value 100
    Worst Value 68
    Threshold 34

There's a footnote at the bottom of the screen that says any number indicates a problem with the disk surface or read/write heads.

If I am interpreting things correctly I have disk problem. Will Lenovo replace the disk or does the disk have to be completely dead before they will replace it.

    The machine is under warranty.

you would need to run the test using Lenovo's toolkit, and replacement is usually for failed parts as according to the directives handed down by Lenovo to IBM service.

Backup your data now, as failures of hdd are not entirely predictable.

Also, you should try to call up Lenovo warranty support and see whether they can replace a drive that is about fail.

    Thanks.

I just ran the test in Lenovo's toolbox and it is showing the same problem so getting it replaced should not be an issue.
