my Idel temps seem pretty low, CPU at 34c gpu at 50c. after a few hours of running graphics benchmarks or gaming the gpu gets to 96c and cpu like 80c. the load temps didn't seem to drop after I replaced the thermal paste with arctic silver5.

All thats means is that the paste you replaced was doing it's job.
Don't worry about your temperatures being too low. On the other hand, if temperatures aren't dropping like they used to, I'd worry about the coolant job I did.

I've used Artic Silver many, many times and love it. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

do you already use TPFancontrol? I crank mine up to the 64 setting every now and then if I really want to cool it off. On load I get something like 55C to 58C, but I have a pretty cool environment and a W500, not a T500.

those temperatures are jsut default bios fan settings, with tpfancontrol on 64 I get about 75c ish load when im really stressing out the card with a benchmark program. don't really feel comfortable leavin it running that fast all the time tho, it'll kill tha fan quick wont it?

Though I don't know for sure if that would kill it, that's my assumption too and I do try to avoid it myself. I've ran it at 64 for up to like 15 to 20 minutes though and then set it back to like level 1.

I know the thinkpads are rated to run perfectly fine at high temps too, but yeah, I'm really overzealous on trying to keep mine low.

the temperatures seems to a bit too high. i usally get around 80-85 for graphics max. it usally drops to 70-75 with tpfan control. i am still shopping for a cooler, but i have no idea which is a good cooler for tp with side vents
