    Hi,

On my T500 there is a green led light on the right side. I have browsed thru the manuals and such, but no view of the connectors or whatever? Well, I cant figure it out. It could be the "i'm powered" light but that seems stupid since its quite bright in dim environments. Theres only a modem or RJ45 input and then the DVD on the right side...What is it shining for? Can I somehow turn off that (annoying) light?

I believe that's the Serial Ultrabay Slip Status indicator light.

    See this for reference. :D

Hmmm I am guessing it is the I'm powered on light. I just noticed it so it must not be too annoying. Put some Peanut butter on it or an old stick of gum.

I think the "I'm powered on" light is above the keyboard, on the bottom of the screen.

    Correct!

Yeah, it's the one with a circle and a jagged line through it.

It's funny you happen to mention that little light on the side of the disk player. A few weeks ago I was trying to play my DVD on my T61, when my Disk drive would not open. I was trying to figure out WHY it would not open. I did EVERYTHING for about 25minutes. That is until I noticed a little button on the side of the DVD drive, pressed it, the little green light came on, and she opened right up. How it got "locked" in the first place is beyond me, as for my DVD drive always opened before (with the green light on as well). I never knew about that for the almost year I've had this computer lol

Grrr, this laptop is mainly placed on a very glossy table - the light reflects and shines up the right side of the laptop more than the thinklight lights up the keyboard!

I guess I cant turn off that light? Hm - maybe a little slice of ducktape? Omg just talking that way about my new T500 sounds weird.

Yes, but it does not flash to indicate access. It stays solid green.
