I have a T500 running windows vista at the moment and am contemplating the downgrade to xp. Has anyone here done the downgrade and if so how do you find the overall performance? Is there anything I should take note of?
Im aware that the hybrid switching of the graphics card (without reboot) would no longer be possible and this does not concern me at all.

TPM im guessing means thinpad power management. This is not much of an issue for me as I disable most power management settings out of habit.
What about the speed, have you noticed that vista is faster than xp?

I put XP on my T400...and the performance is about the same. I am actually going to switch back to Vista. I don't know if it is my machine specific or not, but XP hangs a lot on my T400 whereas Vista did not and was very fast.
