    Hi all. I currently have an Intel 5100 AGN in my T500. Is there any possibility of switching to a more recent and power efficient series of Intel wireless? IIRC the 6xxx series of Intel wireless are more power efficient. I also might remember hearing something about needing a modded BIOS if installing a more recent Intel wireless card. Any suggestions are appreciated :)

    I would be very surprised if power savings in replacing any Intel wireless adapter manufactured in the last 5 years with any other one would significantly exceed 1W.

    I still would like to change the wireless card for my own intellectual curiosity and more importantly because I can. I'm not expecting a break in the laws of physics to occur :)

    You will need a modded BIOS nevertheless, and as long as you're not a cat, curiosity is fine...

    Don't expect a night vs. day change in any respect, though...
