Hi, anyone know any information about the selectable FHD screen that's labeled '15.6" FHD Display (95% Gamut, 270nit) with LED Backlight'?

Also, what's the benefit of having WiMax on a laptop? I don't know any practical uses.

    Thanks!

that's the full HD display. with the "real" HD resolution.

As far as I heard, that screen is only available on the W510, which would make sense seeing as only the W500 has the WUXGA display. But it's mostly all speculation now, and I may be wrong.

Nope, you can configure it already with that screen (the normal HD screen adds 4+ weeks to the shipping date :-o).

I guess the difference between T510 and W510 FHD is the backlight (WLED vs. RG-ph).

    Edit:

    From the shop it's
    Code:
15.6" FHD Display (95% Gamut, 270nit) with LED Backlight [add $250.00]
for both, T510 and W510. W510 has an additional multitouch option, but I can't find anything about RG-ph (RGB?).

    Is it a 1920x1080 resolution?

    Or 1920 x 1200?

I can't seem to find anything more specific on the lenovo site or anywhere else regarding the resolution options on the w510 other than these proprietary terms like HD, HD+ and Full HD/FHD.

FHD means 1920x1080. If it was 1920x1200 they would call it WUXGA.

    imo 16:10 ratio is useless.
is a bussines notebook not multimedia so who need wide lcd?
on the picture you can see, that 15.6" is only 0.18" higher than 14.1".
I wanted to buy 15.4" but now better idea is go for 14.1"

Orev - I would have thought so too, but there have been all these reports of the w510 being available with a 16:10 aspect ratio...

I like the high-res 1920 x 1080 option. If only they would combine it with a capable GPU. But I guess then it would just be too close to the W510...
