Install In progress .
Lets see if it works sucessfully.

r2 uses same drivers as win 7 and that usually detects almost all drivers.

Don't know if this applies on R2 aswell but the original Windows 2008 needs manual activation of WLAN. It comes with most drivers but you have to enable them. Which is a good thing for a server OS.
I doubt it gives you much problems - some new x64 drivers might not work (unless you "sign" them manually) and most free anti virus solutions/firewall solutions don't work. After all those companies want to make money with server OS - Comodo Security works and it includes AV and a firewall. -
Install went successful. Only one issue is not able to configure driver for Ethernet.
Does anyone else have the same issue with configuring the Ethernet driver.
@systemfehler WLAN worked fine. I activate it manually.
Now i have to install SQl server 2005 , Sql server 2008 , Sql server 2008 R2 and Sharepoint 2010.
After that i have my Pc ready in home for some development/ programming. -
It's a long shot but have you tried these drivers from Intel for the Ethernet?
-
Thanks Hearst555! I will try that when i reach home (at office now) and let you know the results.

Thanks Hearst555! It worked.
Now all issues resolved Windows Server 2008 R2. -
Hey Guys,
I read your blogs and then start installing Window server 2008 R2 on my T510 laptop for some SharePoint 2010 development/ programming. However the window 7 driver for wireless card Intel Centrino advanced-n 6200 doesnt work. In your blogs you mentioned that you have activated the driver manually, I am not sure what you mean by activating manually. Maybe this what I have to do to make this to work.
Your help is appreciated. -
Manually means in the server configuration.
It's disabled by default. You have enable the service.

Also , download the driver from Lenovo website and it should work. -
I should have thought of that. Thank you for your fast reply.
