    Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone has come across this.

I have had my T510 since February, and have never noticed a problem with my speakers (part of the reason is I use external speaker at home). Recently, I notice it's just not loud enough when I try to watch some clips, which prompt me to troubleshoot.

So here's what I found: the left speaker is always softer than the right if the speaker balance is set at L=R, which is the normal setting. This is true for system sound (i.e. clicking the volume bar) and in media players (WMP, iTune etc.) so it's most probably not dependent on the software I generate the sound with. The only way I can get the volume of the Left and Right to be the same, is by adjusting the speaker balance such that L ~2xR (i.e. L=100, R=50, volume-wise).

I only notice this recently. And I wonder if this is only happening to me or it's common to all T510. I have already had a new speaker assembly put in by a Lenovo tech. It'd surprise me if the speaker jack on the system board is the culprit. Another possibility is that this is a bug in a recent BIOS update.

Anyone having this issue? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Possibly a problem with the left channel amplifier or if there is such a thing with the master volume of the left channel being set lower than the right channel.
