Does anyone know how to fix the low volume issue on the T510? I'm running Win 7 64 (clean install). I have to turn the volume all the way up to 50 max but it's still pretty low pretty much everywhere including YouTube. Tried the Realtek driver and DFX tricks as seen in this thread but to no avail. Any suggestion? Thanks!

I'd boot a "live" Linux CD/DVD/USB and check how the volume is in that environment...

Yes I would try what ajkula66 stated, a Linux live disc will rule out hardware vs software (if the same problem happens in Linux, likely your speakers/motherboard is kaput, if you get sound in Linux, something in Windows is fubar). Good luck.

If you are referring to the headphone jack then it is simply the absolutely horrid soundcard that is causing the low volume output. I haven't tested the internal speakers myself, but from what I've heard, it wouldn't surprise me if your mobile phone sounds better. All newer ThinkPads are a shame in terms of audio quality.

It is more than just sad to see how ThinkPads have gotten so much worse in this area. Back in the good old days, most ThinkPads had very decent, sometimes even very good soundcards and some models even had good speakers. Nowadays, if you want a decent integrated soundcard, use your mobile phone or get a MacBook. If you want decent internal speakers, get a Clevo or MSI barebone.
