Unless something else was causing the failures.... power glitches, high dust environment, etc.... I wouldn't fault Lenovo for those things.

I suppose it should be 0.098%, if you'd like to put the number in percentage...not that it's any more significant in terms of likelihood to have 10 broken in a row....pardon my OCD.

If you look through Lenovo's forum, Thinkpads.com forum and this one, i have never seen such a high failure rates for T60.

You just have to ask those thinkpads.com forum members on the reliability of their T60 laptops, they will confirm that it is rock solid. Most of them still use them now, i also use them, and have not experienced one motherboard failure so far, only had to change the fan on a few of them under warranty.

Unfortunately, neither. I had a lemon. I was also dealing with a place that had a lenovo service contract. Maybe if I sent it in to Lenovo, I would have had better luck. Dunno

Network Card 2 or 3 times, Video card a few times, when the optical drive failed they replaced the motherboard (uh ...).

I had to give the melted power supplies back to Lenovo.

Actually, yes. But only because I take every free computer I can :p

I had a lemon. It just left a bad taste in my mouth as it would anyone. If I was going to get a business laptop right now, a T410 would be at the top of my list.

hum... well these place charges Lenovo more money for big fixes which are sometimes unnecessary, god knows whether they actually changed the motherboard or just kept on using old ones.

These people are sometimes like second hand car dealers....

I have seen melted power supply, it happens occasionally.
