I've been configuring and re configuring a T510 at the Lenovo site. This morning I was ready to order but when I logged onto the Lenovo site, the T510s have disappeared. Looks like they are so far behind on orders that they removed them from the configurator until they catch up on the back orders.

yeah it's gone for me, as well as the T410s and the W510. Lenovo should really stop doing this! they always put stuff on the website then take it off without notice, it's irritating!

Did you mean T510s or T510 in plural?
    I've never heard of T510s...

Be thankful he didn't say T510's, as they are not possessive or a contraction.

Glad it wasn't me somehow missing things... though it does suck that they are randomly removing things with no warning or notice as to why/what's going on.

Shortage or did someone at Lenovo once again forget to place an order for a key part?

If my memory is correct this happened last year with screen bezels and keyboards.

Maybe they got enough complaints about having a so-called "paper launch." I'm waiting on the T410s (singular) but even for the brief period it was listed, it had configuration bugs and > 4 week shipping estimate...

Any new CPU/chip launch always starts with very limited quantities. Also, the demand for new machines goes up right after the launch. They probably ran out of the limited chip supplies they had, and took the systems off the web site so they wouldn't have people buying systems with very long wait times.

Yep.. they're back.. I talked to Lenovo CS two days ago.. They told me that the T510 probably wouldn't be available for another month. Yesterday, just for the heck of it, I thought I'd check and sure enough they're there. I ordered one..

Lenovo Customer Service sure is up on their products... (not). If they don't know..... then just say.... We don't know. Don't make something up.

Would you want to buy a laptop from sales person if you perceived them as if they didn't know anything about it or what they were talking about?

They would probably get fired if they told them enough times "I don't know". Just a sales tactic...

Perhaps "lieing" is a bit harsh. Maybe "Misrepresenting" is a bit softer.

I hate when people do that! They mean plural but make it a contraction or possessive.

All I can say is: my order was supposed to ship on 2/16.
It left Shanghai yesterday - almost 4 weeks earlier!

The probably reacted to the high demand or parts arrived sooner.

    Who knows!

Yeah, I'm waiting too. Lenovo says early March, but from earlier posts, does that really mean anything  ? Oh well, glad they have what looks like a good machine on the horizon.

    Cheers! - nojiri
