    Hey,

So yesterday after putting my T520 to sleep and leaving it for about 10 minutes I came back and it would not start up again, the sleep led was also not on.

I have tried discharging all the power in the system by taking the battery out and pressing the power button for a long time, then replace the battery or AC and trying to power it on but the same thing happens, the the power button then the fingerprinter reader led flashes. And the flashing does not stop, I left it over night and in the morning and it was still flashing.

I've opened it up and had a look at the keyboard and motherboard, they look fine but you never know.

T420s No power, blinking power Led - won't boot - Lenovo Community

I did read the thread above as well, could this be related?

Would the fingerprint reader affect the laptop powering on?

I have had this laptop since January this year and have had no issues up until now.

Anyway, if anyone has any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.

Pull the hard drive, memory, battery, optical drive and WiFi card. Hit the power button 10 times for a second, then once again for 30 seconds. Plug the AC in and hit the power button. If the board doesn't beep, it's most likely dead. If it does beep, put things back in one at a time to see if you can find the culprit. Since it's still under warranty, I'd call Lenovo and let them deal with it.

Pulling the CMOS battery out, main battery and A/C and leaving the computer for 15 hours seemed to do the trick. Still not sure if it was fautly hardware or something happened when the computer was in sleep mode. But its fixed anyways.
