Hi I bought a T520 from somebody and I had a couple of questions. I need to get a hard drive and I was wondering what make and model of drive it comes with from the factory. I called Lenovo but couldn't get a straight answer. Otherwise are there any recommendations for a drive? Looking for a 320-500gb non-SSD drive.

Also, I was wondering if it's possible to switch out the i5 CPU currently in the system for an i7 quad.

It varies, on my T420 they gave me a Western Digital Scorpio Blue drive while on my T61's they were Hitachi and Fujitsu's. But overall it shouldn't really matter which 2.5" 9.5mm SATA drive you choose for the T520, the Seagate Momentus XT, Western Digital Scorpio Blacks are just some selection of good platter drives on offer.

Answering your question on the Core i5 to i7 Quad Core switch, the answer would be yes on the T520.
