I recently got a new t520 to replace my old t60 and the new DVD drive is a pain in the butt. Every time I move it I hit the eject button and it opens up. Is there a drive bay adapter that I can install instead of the DVD?

You could just get one of the Hard Drive bay adapters and not put a hard drive in it if you didn't want to.

    Very helpful reply.

I have an ultrabay "blank" as you call it for my T410, however since the T5xx series uses a larger optical drive, it would not fit properly.
However you can get the ultrabay III adapter at Lenovo. Lenovo - Storage - 43N3412
But that too will not fit properly because it has to accomodate the slim line drives of the T410 as well.

The T420 one is slightly slimmer so although it would fit, you would have a gap on the side. There are lots of drive caddies that are 12.5mm (the proper height for the t520) on eBay though.

these ultrabay enhanced blank are all aftermarket. Lot of my friends just use an ebay ultrabay enhanced harddrive caddy for that purpose, this can double as an extra hdd bay if you want to use it later. The caddy itself weighs around 100 g or so from memory.
