    T520 Wireless not recognizing HI Speed Channel of E2500 Dual Band N

    My T520 does not see the SSID for the 5Ghz Channel on my Lynksys dual band N-Channel Router E2500. It will only connect with the Channel 2.4Ghz. My hi speed provider is comcast.

    My adapter is an Intel Centrino 1000N.

    Well, that's the problem right there. Your wireless card operates on 2.4GHz band only.

    upgrade it to the Intel 6300 card and you will be good to go

    Make sure to flash a modded BIOS first if you're using a non-Lenovo-issued card, though.

    i think intel 6300 is part of the user selectable spec for wifi card, so he should be fine just poping the card in.
    if it doesnt work he can always flash later lol

    Only if it carries a Lenovo FRU which implies Lenovo firmware, otherwise he'll get a "1802 error" on boot.
