    I have a Displayport to HDMI Converter for my TV: When hooking up my X220i, I get Sound. I don't see why it shouldn't, after all Displayport is better than HDMI in every Aspect.

    As long as the adapter supports sound you should be fine.

    It largely depends on your displayport cable, have a read of this thread to see which ones work and which doesn't.
