If I opt for the Full HD (1920x1080) screen upgrade on the T530, is it the same screen Lenovo uses in the W530 with the Full HD screen? I have a X230T right now but I'd like something bigger and with an optical drive so I am looking at the T530 but will need a decent screen. After using the IPS panel on the X230T it's really hard to use anything without a decent screen on it anymore. I also tried a Y510p and Asus N550JV and the screens were great for me. So if the T530 screen is as good or better than the Y510p/Asus, I think I'll enjoy it. Can anyone compare the two?

Yes, the T530 and the W530 have the same screens. It is an excellent screen in all the ways.

I have used the X230 before and I have the T530 with FHD. The T530 is a bit easier on the eyes when using it for extended periods of time. Not sure if it's due to the larger size or the screen itself but I really like it. So if you're going from or complementing an X230T with an T530 FHD, you will enjoy it as well.

Thanks, I will be moving to the T530 with FHD exclusively and won't use the X230T any longer. I also noticed while using the 15.6" screen on the Asus/Y510p it was easier on my eyes than even the lower res IPS panel on the X230T.

    Appreciate the help.

The inherent quality of the AUO B156HW01 V.4 screen makes its use an enjoyable experience. (On the other hand, "IPS" does not always translate to "great quality" in actual usage.)

I am hoping for a Haswell refresh soon and then I'll jump on one. I'd like a little more processing power than I have with my i5-3320M right now. I see they only offer one dual core i7 and it's a premium of $235 and only a slight increase in performance. I thought they had one in quad core but it appears they discontinued those options. In the mean time my X230T will hold me over.

I just received a my first Lenovo notebook yesterday, a T530. I first ordered the FHD and thought that I would scale the DPI in Win7 to compensate for my 50 year old plus bifocal eyes. After reading a number of reviews and posts on the FHD, I cancelled the order before the unit was built and reordered a new T530 with the HD+ with 1600 X 900. I read where there are situations where some programs that do not scale very well with the high resolution of the FHD screen. I am positive that the FHD screen is a wonderful screen for those that can easily view it after reading so many positives about it, but I would like to let others know that I was pleasantly suprised by the display quality of the 1600 X 900 15.6" screen on my T530. I upped the DPI in the internet brousers to 125% but did not touch the desktop. I am not an expert at colors, but the colors are more vibrant than a number of our Dells with a brighter white than I am use to. If you are concerned about the $200.00 plus cost or the small text on the FHD, the 1600 X 900 is not as bad of an alternative that I was afraid of. The Intel HD4000 GPU is not bad either. The Win7 Experience Rating is in the sixes whereas the Nividia NVS120 (same as a 7600 to go) was in the mid threes on my D820. It will suffice for my needs.
