I have a new T530, and some of the keys make a loud, rattling/spring/vibration type noise when I type. It's mostly the keys on the left side; some of them don't make it if I type very gently, others, particularly the function keys, make it no matter how lightly I type. At first I thought it would go away or I would get used to it, but after a couple of months, it's only becoming more irritating.

Is this a known problem? Is there anything I can do about, beside wearing earplugs?

    Thanks.

Call them and request a new (free) keyboard shipped to you. They usually say 48 hours but, so far, I have received the parts the following day.

There are various "tricks" for "fixing" ThinkPad keyboard problems which continue every single year. I don't want to mention them because ThinkPads, as premium business notebooks are Lenovo claims them to be, must work without the users mucking around with them.
