    T530 Windows 7/8 Dual Drive

    I have a SSD in the main drive spot that has windows 8 installed and original HDD with windows 7 in DVD bay. When I boot from windows 7 I get the message that one of my disks needs to be checked for consistency. Is there anything I can change so it will stop scanning my drives?

    Are you using Windows 8 Fast Startup (hibernation) ?

    No I don't believe so. When I boot up I press F12 and select my Windows 7 hard drive.

    I believe hibernation and Windows 8 Fast Startup are enabled by default. You have to specifically turn them off.

    I believe what you are seeing is state corruption on the drive because Windows 8 stores state that Windows 7 screws up.

    Turning off Windows 8 Fast Startup and Hibernation is easy. I suggest you do. If you need authoritative article links, they should be easy to find via google and bing.

    You probably wouldn't see any of this if using native boot from VHD.

    One last question, did your T530 ship with Windows 8 and is Secure Boot enabled?
