My T530 (win 7 pro, 64-bit)'s power button is NOT working properly.

In the past, I configured the computer so that pressing the power button made the computer go into sleep. It was working before. But now it is not working. I just double-checked the config in both Power Options and Power Manager. The settings in both is the same as before.

I am able to press the power button to get the system wake from sleep or forcefully shut down the computer (hold the button for over 6 seconds), but I cannot simply make it go into sleep mode by pressing the button.

Does anybody have an idea about what is wrong?

    Thanks and regards!

Does Fn+F4 put the machine to sleep?

Yes. It does make my computer sleep and wake. Then?

When I used fn+f4 to make it sleep, pressing the power button did not make it wake.

    Thanks!

I don't know the particulars of T530 since I've never worked on one, but would update or re-install Power Manager to see whether that gets me anywhere.

Based on my experience with other ThinkPads, this type of behaviour would likely be related to either PM or graphics driver.

    Obviously, YMMV.

    Good luck.
