I recently purchased a T540P off Lenovo outlet in which it comes with a HD (768p) display. I was going to get a FHD (1080p) model but I just couldn't resist the price-to-spec ratio on the HD one. So I bought it. My question is if its possible to replace the HD panel with a FHD one? Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

of course you can upgrade the screen itself, warranty will be voided for the screen though, additionally, the 1080p screen that is used for lenovo on the t540p is awful; however, there is an aftermarket IPS 1080p display that will work with the t540p that is better quality if you wish to do upgrade.

That's sweet. Warranty is not an issue here since it already expired two months ago lol. I guess this is a typical thing when buying off the outlet. Anyways, do you have the model number for the IPS panel by any chance? I've heard people having to change their cables for FHD support, is that true?

    Huh?

All ThinkPads from the Outlet come with a 1-year warranty. You may want to give Lenovo a call regarding your supposedly expired one...

That's what I thought too, and the laptop is in 'new' condition as well. But this is what I got from Lenovo's warranty check. What's weird is that the warranty seemed only lasted a month :err:

You need to call them. Yesterday.

With an invoice - proof of purchase or whatever - in hand. And argue until they give up and extend it to where it should be.

    Good luck
