Since daylight savings time, my windows clock has been behind every time I start my computer. At first I thought it was caused by the change in DST so I downloaded the Microsoft update for the new DST changes. But it turns out that I already had it installed.

So now I'm thinking that the battery on the motherboard is dead. Is this likely? I bought the T60 in July of 07 so it's only been 8 months.

Is there anything else that can cause the time to be consistently incorrect?

Have you gone into the BIOS to set the time, save and exit and go back into the BIOS to see if it kept the setting? Also try going to your date/time in the OS and doing a synchronization.

I've been going to the time&date setting and syncing it every time I start up lately.

I updated the BIOS time last night and when I woke up this morning, the time was the same time as I shut down last night. Does this confirm a dead motherboard battery? After only 9 months?
