I sort of posted this in another thread but I think it might have been unclear, and got bogged down. I have one question:

How is the 14.1 SXGA+ TFT on the T60. Recent buyers would be best as manufactures do change panels. Pictures would be fantastic.

I know IPS is better, but size, weight, and cost are all against it. I might go that route but please lets only discuss the 14.1 here. Thanks.

I have no complaints and no camera.

    =/

It's acceptably bright and the horizontal viewing angles are decent, the vertical viewing angles leave much to be desired. Overall, my e1505 had wider angles than this LCD. I wouldn't want to have people watch a movie on it for a long period of time, but dead-on it's great.

EDIT: This is probably a rumor, but I read somewhere on thinkpads.com that there may be a 14.1 IPS panel in the works.

Vespoli got it right. As long as you're looking dead on, it's great.

Thanks for the reply Teranfirbt. Now he has me curious about the chances of 14.1 IPS. I wonder if that is just rumor or is confirmed.

    I found this:

Though I don't know what 14.1" is the most common certainly shows IPS being better.

The 14.1 SXGA+ screen is bright and crystall-clean. But it might have dead or stuck pixels.

A recent poll on forum.thinkpads.com shows 40% of T60(p?) have at least 1 dead/stuck pixel.

Please post the link for it, I browse the website everyday and didn't notice there is any poll related to dead/stuck pixels.

When mine comes in, I'll be taking pictures, but it probably won't arrive until next week. :(

    I'd rather have the 14.1" than the 12.1" ;)
