I just ordered a T60 with the high res 14.1 screen. I can see from posts that on the 15.4 WS, everyone pretty much wants the LG screen.
Is there a LG option for the 14.1 screen? From what I can see, there seems to be 3 options...Samsung, and two others and I don't see a LG screen.
Also, can someone tell me which is the best screen for the 14.1?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I just received my T60p with a 14.1" Samsung screen and was fretting about it from all the reports I've read around here. It very well may be that the LG LCD is better than the Samsung but mine is definitely superior to the LG screen I have on my Z60t, at least brightness-wise. I'm am not disappointed.

AFAIK, there's no way to request an LG screen with your order, although, at least in one case, someone who purchased their T60 from buy.com was able to get the Samsung LCD replaced with an LG. I've not heard of a similar feat from those who purchased directly from Lenovo.

TDM is the worst from what I've hear and Samsung has the best one. I got TDM :( :(

    How bad is the TDM?
A local computer store had a T60 14.1 so I got the sn and ran it and it had the samsung lcd. From what I can see, it looked really nice. Bright and the icons and letters looked really sharp. Way better than the Dell D410 I am using right now. I would be more than satisfied with this screen!

Well...it depends on personal taste. Viewing angle is pretty bad. The screen looks bluish. However, the text looks sharp.

How about the brightness? And are there any light leakage on the bottom.
The Samsung is pretty bright but I noticed some light leakages at the bottom.

Just for clarification, I don't think that Samsung's poor showing in the 15.4" WS market carries over to the 14.1" screens. It seems that Samsung's 14.1" screens are quite good when it comes to 14.1".

I've never seen a Samsung screen before, but my screen has fair amount of leakage at the bottom

I just got a T60 with the 14.1" Samsung and I am very pleased with the screen. This is my first laptop so I don't have too much experience to go by but I think this screen is of very high quality. I don't notice any light leaking from the bottom of the screen. I have never seen this phenomenon so I can't be sure it doesn't suffer from it, but like I said I notice no light leaking from the bottom.

mightaswell, that's a picture of light leakage (stolen from the Latitude D820 review on this sight). It's apparent at the bottom, where it is brighter, or light is "leaking" upwards on the screen from the backlight.

Where do I figure out the manufacturer of my screen?

I have the ThinkPad display opened via the Device Manager. Under 'Compatible Id's' it lists "*PNP09FF" and "Monitor/LEN4022" under 'Hardware Ids'

I like my monitor, though the vertical viewing angles leave something to be desired.
