I have been looking for some information and was wondering whether or not the flex view is worth the extra 200 or so dollars it adds to the laptop.

mmm, I am also in the same boat, even after I brought 15' flexview T60 few days back, thinking of changing it to 14' because 14' looks smaller and compact to me!!!

My T43 is 15' Flexview and I am used to see the film and picture.
I think it is better than the 14.1" sxga+ screen of my T40.

It's shame that Lenovo/IBM doesn't provide 14" flexview, if so, the choice will be so much easier. I opted for the 14" non-flexview for the weight, size and battery life.

I believe both screens have the same rated brightness at 200 nits. Flexview has better viewing angles and colour/saturation - check this out for comparison photos (showing Samsung 14" SXGA+, LG Flexview 15" SXGA+, Hydis 14" SXGA+ panels used by Lenovo).

I think we all wish there was a 14" flexview panel. The 14" SXGA although equally bright is not flexview. I'd say if you mainly use your laptop at home or office get the 15" flexview screen - it is a joy to look at and at around 3kg it's not too heavy for occasional trips. For frequent travellers I'd recommend to skip 14" altogether and go straight to 12" X60s at 1.3kg.

If you do go with the 14" SXGA and are worried about fonts being too small make sure to turn ClearType font smoothing on and increase the DPI size in Windows Display properties

    Hope this helps.

All the T60 14.1" screens listed here have 150 nits, even the SXGA+ ones.
