I had no problems with factory settings with audio, but since I reformatted and did a fresh install, I can't get windows to install a driver. I downloaded the driver from lenovo via system update and lenovo.com -- both install, and windows trys to find the driver, but neither can find "the necessary driver."

Running: XP SP2 with no critical updates left from Windows Update

    Driver tried:
Micrsoft UAA High Definition Audio class driver (Q888111)
For Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
