    Hey everyone!

I just recently purchased an Lenovo T60, and I am quite pleased with my purchase. However, upon first booting it up I noticed that there is a large array of background processes that seem to be slowing down the system. If I close most of the processes, my system runs significantly faster. I unfortunately do not know what most of these programs are doing, and I don't know which ones are important to leave running. Therefore, I was wondering: Could anyone out there post a sticky that explains what each program is that is running in the background on a fresh system, as well as which programs are important to leave running? Thank you so much!

That is definitely an option. I suppose I wanted to first ask this community to see if they already had anything typed up about it, or if any of the particularly knowledgeable Thinkpad users out there had some good advice about the particular programs. The Thinkpad comes with so much good ThinkVantage software, but I'm not sure which is of it is actually necessary to use. Any advice is welcome!
