If going for a T60 with dedicated graphic card. Can I use a high resolution display with DVI interface when I'm not on the go?

I believe the DVI port is only available on the docking station. How does this work actually? And does this work well?

Yes you can use the DVI. It doesn't require much, just plug it into the dock and connect with the DVI.

I'm a pretty picky person and I would say the DVI output works very well, the picture is much nicer than VGA on my 20" Dell 2001FP at 1600x1200. I have read about people using the 24" Widescreen Dell as well at 1920x1200 or whatever the native resolution is...

Thanks, after reading this on thinkwiki ( http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_with_DVI_throughput) I was a bit doubtful about the support of high resolution displays. OKay, one less thing to worry about :)

I'm using a T60 with the 128 MB video card, an advanced mini dock, and a Dell 2005FPW in DVI mode, and everything is working very well. The mini dock was definitely worth the extra $150 or so, since it's saving time, enabling DVI, and reducing wear-and-tear on the notebook ports.
