How hard is it to remove the T60 HDD, is it just under a flap or cover, or would you have to dismantle the laptop?

    Many Thanks

One phillips head screw, then you pull it out, then you unscrew it off the rails. A note though, the manual says this isn't designed to be something you constnatly swap back and forth.

It is very easy as noted. The service manual located on Lenovo's site will explain the procedure.

Thanks for the quick reply, is it possible then to use a USB to SATA adaptor to the notebook hdd drive (once removed) on my pc and ghost it onto a another new 2.5" drive.

I don't see any problem with that as long as you have similar drives. This is if you want to make the same drive (same portitions and sizes).
Depending of software you are going to use. You should be able to import your image to smaller/bigger drive and change portiotions also. This is software limitations. I don't see the problem in connection type of the hardware (SATA or USB shuld not be a big difference).
I was able to put image into CD and then load it to another drive from CD. I made clones for several computers based on one image. For windows machine you will need to change GUID in order to connect all clones to network.
