I've just ordered a T60 configured with 1Gb of PC2-5300 in 1 DIMM and was hoping to add an additional 2Gb PC2-5300 in the second slot for 3 Gb total. But, while looking through the tech specs I found that it says in order to have 3Gb, I have to go down to PC2-4200 instead. Is this true? If so, why?

Most of the memory companies (Crucial, Kingston, ect) that I've looked at say that their PC2-5300 2Gb sticks will work with the T60. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Also, if the above is true and I have to drop down to PC2-4200(533MHz) in order to use the 3Gb, would I be better off just going with 2Gb at PC-5300(667MHz).

I use Photoshop quite a bit and was hoping to get the 3Gb for a little extra help with larger files.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Marc

By the way, in case it matters, it is the T60 8743 model with the Intel T7200 Core 2 Duo.

    Thanks.
