Does anyone know, for sure, whether or not I can support a DVI connection (either directly from a t60, or with a docking station) to a DVI monitor? Specifically, I would like to run an Apple Cinema Display 20-inch. I know there are some driver files that I will probably need for the in combination with the signal to get to a wide-screen aspect. For instance, some of the Sony's will support a dvi connection via a docking station. I don't want a z60 to do this though... Thanks for the thoughts... Additionally, any thoughts on comparing the t60 to the sony sz series?

    thanks...

The dock that I have for my T40 (which I believe is the same for all T series) does have DVI output.

I have the mini dock for my T42. It also has a DVI connector. The T60s max external resolution is 2048x1536 so you should be in good shape.

Thanks for the info. I have been poking around a bit and the real kicker will probably be the resolution aspect. But, I agree I think I should be set. Now I just need to figure out if a t4x will do all I need v. a t60. Not qute sold on the performance enhancements in the dual - core...

I know some people over on ThinkPads.com got the T42/3 working with the Dell 2005PF, but I don't think they used the stock drivers.

I suppose your screen will either auto adapt with DDC. If not, there's always powerstrip.

I have a T43p with a docking station (I think it's the mini dock) and I use an external Dell 24" widescreen LCD using the DVI connector on the dock. It automatically adjusts for the widescreen without any problems. Just connect it and boot it.

jjfcpa -- thanks, that's what I needed to hear -- I think also that powerstrip may be an alternative if it is not auto detected. I would really like to stay with a stinkpad -- don't really care for sony...they are loud...
