Tonight I accidentally doped my phone on my laptop screen. needless to say theres a nice little spider crack in the screen now.

I believe its an 14.1" xga screen (1024x768) Can i replace the with a higher resolution screen?

Also can anyone recommend anywhere to buy a screen.. so far ebay is the best for price..

    thanks

Yes you can upgrade the screen. It should be a straight swap. You can search ebay by the part number:

    BOE-Hydis - 13N7061
    Samsung - 13N7059
    TDM - 13N7063

Supposedly the Hydis is the the best of the SXGA+ screens. The results on eBay are compatible to the part number, but probably not a Lenovo part. If you're looking for a genuine Lenovo part, you might want to post over on ThinkPads.com in the Marketplace forum that you're looking for a screen. Good luck.

I could care less about who makes it just as long as it fits and the plugs match! I just took a look on ebay all seem to be around the 170-180 ish mark shipped (cdn)

    thanks for the tips!

If i put in a higher res screen would i be-able to up my resolution? (not sure if its the video card or screen limiting it..)

You can get SXGA+ on the Intel card, so yes you can up the resolution.

You mean Sharp UXGA 14.1" panel? Yes, you can use it, but you have to cut pin 2 on the panel.

Maybe the resolution doesn't adjust automatically. Have you tried adjusting it manually? (right click on desktop, and then go to screen properties)
