As a very loyal and longtime ThinkPad user, having purchased many of them, this has nearly always been my complaint with IBM/ now Lenovo is that they rarely have anything in stock, when Lenovo says "ships in 2-3 or 2-4 weeks I have found that's always a crap shoot, as in one case I waited 9 weeks! It's incredibly frustrating, like this present moment situation. As a result I usually find an authorized reseller who has what I want in stock. In one case (Euclidcomputers.com) I also save sales tax. The other source (that does charge sales tax) is (costcentral.com) these are the only two reliable sources that I have found. I do not work for either just a satisfied customer, especially of Euclid as they usually have the lowest discounted price, no tax, and fastest shipping. Also they will take your phone call and provide good customer service.

"Notebook makers may find their annual shipments target for 2007 fails to meet expectations due to component shortages being observed across the board.
Affected components include panels, analog ICs, battery cells, optical drives, printed circuit boards (PCBs) and aluminum-based capacitors, according to sources at Taiwan notebook makers."

I did. Delivery has now been pushed back yet another month.
Lenovo has lied, made all kinds of excuses, lost the order and then refused to correct their errors.

I suggest you find another company who is ethical and professional to do business with.
