My T60 thinkpad is wierd.. sometimes the touchpad doesn't work when I turn it on. I have to restart my computer then it will work fine again. This is obviously not normal is there anything I can do to fix this? thanks in advance

First thing is run system update and see if there is a newer driver for the synaptics touchpad. Second, may want to try opening the palmrest (not that hard) and reseat the touchpad's connection. If that doesn't work it may be time to ring up Lenovo.

Sorry to hear about the crack, I should have included this video for instructions on removing the palmrest. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-63784.html

Check ebay for replacement palmrests is your best bet if you don't have accidental coverage. Make sure the replacement palmrest has the fingerprint reader aswell.

The marketplace forum on ThinkPads.com is another good place for parts. If you don't mind used but looks new. Just post over that you're looking for the part to see if anyone has one.
