Since I received my T60 WS (8741-49U) I've noticed that when I plug the thinkpad into AC the screen noticably gets brighter even though it's the same power scheme and same brightness level (max).

I would prefer the brightest setting on battery even if it means less battery life -- anyone have this happen to them?

    Strange...

You can configure the LCD brightness in BIOS. My X30 does that too.

If you don't like going into your BIOS, you can do this in Windows too.

Go to start, all programs, Thinkvantage, Thinkpad Configuration, then at the top click Display, and then LCD. Set Brightness when running on batteries to High (don't worry, your power manage profile will still turn it down if it's set to do so, plus the FN+End key will still work of course).
