    Hi,

first, I need to thank you all for this forum and reviews. You got me hooked up to the thinkpad, made me find the best deal, and now I'm a proud owner of a T60 (2007-72U with x1400 ATI)

After removing Norton, and a couple other things, I've started adding some programs and made the first updates, and it appears no matter what (cleaning/reinstalling components and drivers), the Catalyst Control Center no longer wants to start. It seems to load the .NET components when first invoked, but nothing appears/shows on the screen. There is no log in the event viewer and running a CLR (.NET) debugging does not show anything either.

    Is this something known?

Also, it seems the Rescue and Recovery system reserves a HUGE area on the hard drive, and I won't use it (I'll make backups directly to DVDs). Is there any way to shrink and/or move this area on the hard drive (it is right in the middle of the drive sectors and makes Disk Keeper having a hard time defragmenting around)?!

    thanks in advance!

Ok, I've found about the Catalyst Control Center: I've blocked it with my firewall (application filter). When I authorize it to connect to the internet, it now works alright!

Now remains the question about the Rescue and Recovery
