Hi there, i was looking around at my campus' bookstore today and i saw the thinkpad T60 and my god it was love at first sight. I was delighted to find out that it is well within my budget (2000 cdn with 1gb of ram only though). I am aware that the T61 is coming out in May. I wonder if I were to get a similar spec for the T61 say discrete graphics and the T7200 cpu, how much more expensive would the T61 be than the T60. Since school is out already and i think i can wait until late august or even september before i pull the trigger. From past experiences how long would it take for the T61's price to drop down a little? This is my first time considering a thinkpad! Thank you very much

I think the T61 will not be more (or only slightly more) expensive then a full priced T60 .
The T60 right now is discounted and on sale all over. I think you will have to pay the full price of for the T61 for the first 6 months. Thinkpads have competetive student prices and I am hoping that the T61 with midrange Santa Rosa specs will be available for 1800US$.
*this is pure speculations and my opinion not backed up by any guaranties.*
