I have a T60 (running XP) with an aftermarket extended charge battery. I was using the PC today on battery and no cable (wireless). All the sudden, the PC shuts down. It wont fire up on battery, period.

The battery icon on the indicator is blinking orange.

I searched the forum but did not see anything too relevant. Has anyone experienced this activity while on battery and using wireless?

    Stumped.

I don't think wireless has anything to do with battery. Usually a flashing orange light indicates a failing battery.

Yup. Wifi sounds like a coincidence, nothing more.

Any way to test the battery w/out putting it in another machine or putting a new/diff one in my machine?

It may be easiest to buy a new battery if the system is working without the battery plugged in and on the ac power...

What might have caused it is the after market battery...

The only way would be either:

Using a known good battery or having a known good machine test the battery.

Thats funny, 2 days ago exactly the same happened to my T60 with original battery. Probably the Sun activity :D

I think our batteries are dead tho.

My clock (in the tray) is not working either. I thought this powered off the cmos battery? Would a dead cmos battery cause problems with the primary battery? Both dead?

I was in Lenovo service today and they told me that the battery is dead. What Power Manager says? Mine said "replace battery". But the symptoms - flashing battery LED = dead as service told me.
