    T60 dock

    what does the Dock do, does it mean I can add a graphics card to it and such.

    It says PCI express card and how well does it perform.


    also what type of PcI express card is it? is it X16

    You put the notebook in the dock and it adds a bunch of connections like extra usb port and a DVI connector. It sort of makes it like a desktop. The Advanced Mini Dock has a slot for a PCI Express card. You should note it is a helf height card which limits your selection.

    This pertains to a dock. I am getting a T60 with the X1400 GPU, however, I am being told that it will not be a wise choice for engineering...run solidworks in partcular, when it comes to accurate rendering. With a dock, could I add a graphics card to run an external monitor to get the accuracy I would need for Solidworks, or am I completly not understanding the concept of adding a graphics card to a dock.
