    I got a T60 with the T2300 Core Duo CPU and the 14,1" screen with intel graphics and am quite satisfied with it except for the fact that the fan doesn't seem to stop at all. I made a custom energy profile where the CPU was tuned down to minimum speed but still the fan keeps blowing out cool air. Is this normal? If so, is there anything I can do about it while making sure the laptop doesn't get cooked by accident?

    I own the same machine and was pretty disappointed by that. However, there is a work-around. Just download this little programme (works perfectly on a T60) and adjust the ini file to whatever suits you.

    http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=153962

    My ini file looks like that

    Level=45 0
    Level=52 1
    Level=55 5
    Level=57 7
    Level=60 128

    This should keep the fan off, most of the times. Please note, while I consider this perfectly safe and use it on my own machine it might be interfere with your warranty regulations.

    Thanks, I'll try that if it becomes too irritating.
