Quick back story, I've had my T60 for about 3 years and have never had a problem. In a freak accident, it was dropped on the corner of the screen closed which broke the screen and killed the hard drive.

I've since replaced the screen with an ebay replacement that has no problem, and the hard drive with a Seagate 7200.4 250 gig drive. Windows installed just fine as well as all of my programs and drivers.

Everything appears to work just fine in terms of hardware, but if I move the laptop it will randomly freeze or restart itself, but if it sits still it's just fine. I've tried disabling the IBM hard drive turn off program to no avail.

I have the Intel AHCI drivers installed, but the problem seems worse with AHCI enabled.

I haven't had a chance to reinstall windows, I'll do that as soon as I get home, but if anyone has any ideas that might help me now, I'd love to hear them.

Well the software simply tells you when the HDD head is "parked" so they say. You may need to disable the accelerometer somehow that resides near the HDD slot, but if you want the Active Protection System i guess it could be that the HDD is not mounted properly? Idk what else it could be. Maybe the problem lies between the accelerometer communicating between the HDD and it is not properly communicating or does not recognize it as a familiar HDD, yeah try reinstalling drivers first before taking it apart.
