Hi I would like to increase the memory in my T60,

    can i use:
    4 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)

I notice that they have a odd memory size 3 gb with 2 dim,
With 4 gb they use slower memory.

Why is the above the case.

    thanks slxrti

Yes, the T60 can support 4gb of ram. However, you'll need a 64bit OS to fully utilize the 4gb, otherwise your system will only register 3gb.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by odd memory size with 3gb. All 3gb systems have the 2gb + 1gb configuration.

Odd maybe a bit strong, I would have expected an even number.

    thanks Slxrti

The T60 cannot address all 4GB of memory even with a x64 operating system. You must be using the T61 class of Santa Rosa chipset based machines.
