I'm planning to buy some additional memory for my T60. It originally came with 1gb and one free slot. The question is - what to fill the free slot with? I can afford to buy 1gb of original Lenovo memory or for the same price I can get 2gb of kingston value ram. Somewhere I have read that the lenovo memory has ECC and the kingston memory does't. Are there any possible compatibility or speed issues when mixing the original lenovo ECC memory with the kingston memory?

I'm not sure notebook memory has EEC. It's commonly used in server/mainframe computer.
So, forget what Lenovo offers, get Kingston Value Ram instead. It should be no problem.

Just go to SlickDeals or FatWallet to pick up one of the many memory deals.

Thanks for the replies guys.. I guess I was wrong about the ECC. I'm going to get the cheapest ram possible.
